Artificial planners
Artificial Planners are predefined algorithms designed to assist production planners in optimizing the scheduling of production items based on specific criteria. Users can select from various predefined planning strategies, each aimed at enhancing efficiency in the production process.

Available Planning Strategies
Make-to-Order (MTO)
This strategy prioritizes production items based on their Required Finish Time, which is derived from customer orders. The system organizes the production schedule to ensure that items are completed by their due dates, helping to meet customer delivery expectations.
Minimal Changeover
The Minimal Changeover planner aims to reduce the number of changeovers in the production process. Changeovers, or the transitions between different production items, can lead to significant non-productive time. By clustering similar production items together, this planner seeks to enhance overall production efficiency and minimize downtime.
Custom Planning Options
While the available artificial planners offer robust functionality, users currently cannot define custom planning rules within the standard interface. Custom development may be necessary for organizations requiring tailored planning strategies that go beyond the predefined options.
By utilizing these artificial planners, production managers can streamline scheduling decisions, reduce lead times, and improve overall operational efficiency.
